WHEREAS the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation have aboriginal title to Scugog Island; and

WHEREAS Scugog Island has been recognized as Lands reserved for the benefit of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation; and

WHEREAS a significant portion of Scugog Island has been designated as park land by the Crown,

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Confederacy support the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation in their efforts to have their lands returned to them; and

FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED THAT the federal government be called upon to make arrangements to return all Crown lands on Scugog Island to the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation to become part of their reserve lands.
