Working to ensure adequate, equitable recognition and support for First Nation Veterans.

Our Work We promote the recognition of the contributions of First Nation veterans in Canada.

First Nations have a long history of volunteering to enlist to serve the country and their homelands.

The First Nations Veterans Council promotes the recognition of contributions of First Nation veterans in Canada made in all conflicts as allies to Canada, educates First Nations about the history of First Nations veterans, develops and maintains a database recognizing First Nations Veterans and engages with Veterans Affairs Canada in efforts to advance reconciliation and healing.

We want to work with the government to address the priorities of First Nation Veterans, including inadequacies in outreach to First Nation Veterans on potential benefits, the development of a national First Nations Veterans identification project and achieving adequate funding for grave markers for First Nation soldiers buried without gravestones.
