(August 6, 2025 – Vancouver, BC) – National Chief Cindy Woodhouse Nepinak will be meeting with Chiefs in British Columbia Thursday and Friday.

Discussions will focus on First Nation priorities for the fall federal budget, closing the First Nations Infrastructure gap and legislation expected during the upcoming Parliamentary session.

During her visit, the National Chief will provide an update on the claims process for the $23 billion final settlement agreement for children and families discriminated against through the First Nations child services program and narrow application of Jordan’s Principle.

Eligible claimants for the ‘removed child’ and ‘removed child family’ classes were invited to start submitting application forms for compensation on March 10, 2025.

The National Chief is available to speak with media about these issues during her BC visit. To arrange an interview, contact Cherish Francis, Press Secretary, at [email protected] or (343) 630-1372.
