AFN National Chief Cindy Woodhouse Nepinak Acknowledges the Contributions of the Honourable David Lametti

(January 26, 2024 – Unceded Algonquin Territory, Ottawa, Ontario) – The Assembly of First Nations (AFN) National Chief Cindy Woodhouse Nepinak acknowledges the contributions made by Honourable David Lametti, Member of Parliament for LaSalle-Émard-Verdun and former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, as he announces his retirement from Parliament.

“I thank Mr. Lametti for his willingness to listen to and work alongside First Nations to advance our priorities,” said National Chief Woodhouse Nepinak. “In particular, I acknowledge his leadership in the passing of United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (UNDA) and the development of the UNDA Action Plan. I wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
