About the Event Assembly of First Nations (AFN) - Annual General Assembly

The Assembly of First Nations (AFN) will host its Annual General Assembly from July 15-17, 2025, at the RBC Convention Centre, located at 375 York Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 3J3. The AGA will be held on Treaty 1 territory, the traditional lands of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Anisininew, Dakota, Lakota, and Dene peoples.

Registration

Note: Due to recent budget reductions, registration fees for Chiefs and Proxies have been reinstated.

Registration is now open for the Assembly of First Nations (AFN) Annual General Assembly (AGA). To enter the Assembly, full registration and payment are required. On-site registration will be available, and all badges must be scanned prior to entering the plenary room.

How to Register

  1. Register OnlineCredit cards are accepted. You will receive a confirmation email after registering. Please provide your confirmation number at the event to pick up your badge.
  2. Register by Email or Fax – Complete the registration form and submit it by emailing [email protected] or by fax to 613-241-5808. . You will receive a confirmation email after registering. Please provide your confirmation number at the event to pick up your badge.
  3. Register On-Site On-site registration will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 2:00pm to 8:00pm at the RBC Convention Centre.

Please note that delegates who pre-register by July 14, 2025, will be entered into a bonus draw! The draw will take place July 17, 2025.

Where does your registration fee go?

Registration fees help to offset the direct costs of holding Chiefs Assemblies, including facility rentals, audio/visual equipment, interpretation services, webcasting, registration services, facilitators, translation, signage, Elder honorarium, and drum groups.

Note: Registration fees are non-refundable after July 4, 2025. An administration fee of $50 will apply to cancellations.

Registration Process

Photo identification is required at registration for Chiefs, Proxies, accredited media, and students. All participants and groups are encouraged to pre-register and pre-pay, even if their registration is complimentary. Those who pre-register and pre-pay will have access to the Express Line for badge pick-up at the event.

Badge Pick-Up

Badge pick-up will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 2:00pm to 8:00pm at the RBC Convention Centre. To avoid delays, all delegates are strongly encouraged to pick up their badges during this time.

Accommodations

The AFN has reserved blocks of guestrooms at several hotels for the event. When booking, please mention “2025 AFN Special Chiefs Assembly” to receive the preferred group rate.

Be sure to make your reservation before the cut-off dates to guarantee availability and access to the discounted rate. Bookings made after these dates will be subject to regular hotel pricing. All travel, meals, and accommodation costs are the responsibility of the guest or group, unless you have been contacted directly by an AFN representative. All expenses must be settled upon check-out.
