About the Event Virtual Speaker Series for First Nations Women in Leadership 2024
The Assembly of First Nations (AFN) is pleased to host a Virtual Speaker Series for First Nations Women in Leadership. There will be three virtual sessions with First Nations women in leadership positions. The objective of the Virtual Speaker Series is to empower aspiring women leaders by sharing insights and experiences of elected First Nations women leaders.
The National Caucus of Women Leaders (NCWL) is comprised of First Nations women leaders, including Chiefs, Councilors, Tribal Chiefs, and Grand Chiefs across Canada. The objective of the NCWL project, which is funded by Women and Gender Equality, is to increase the number of elected women leaders across Canada through the development of a NCWL. The Virtual Speaker Series is meant to empower aspiring women leaders by sharing insights and experiences of elected First Nations women leaders.
Register NowThe panels will consist of 2-3 women. Each panelist will present on the topic, followed by a moderated question and answer period. Throughout the Virtual Speaker Series various topics will be addressed, including:

- Overcoming Obstacles/Challenges

- Self-Care and Healing

- Lateral violence vs. Lateral Kindness.
- Leadership Roles
- Leadership Across the lifecycle
