Federal Election Readiness and Outreach Campaign
45th General Federal Election

45th General Federal Election The Assembly of First Nations (AFN) is working with Elections Canada to support First Nations electors by providing information on the federal election process and addressing barriers to participation.

The AFN is non-partisan and does not support or endorse any political party or candidate. The goal of this campaign is to share information so that First Nations voters, should they choose to participate, can make informed decisions based on their priorities. We respect First Nations’ right to self-determination, including the choice of whether or not to take part in the federal election.

The 45th Federal Election will take place on April 28, 2025.

Information & Resources

To help First Nations electors prepare for the 45th Federal Election, we are providing information on voter registration, voting options (election day, advance polls, mail-in ballots), polling station locations, voter ID requirements, vouching, candidate details, and job opportunities with Elections Canada, to ensure First Nations know where, when, and how to vote and how to access support, if they choose to participate.
