National Chief Cindy Woodhouse Nepinak Attends 69th Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women

(March 10, 2025 – Montreal, QC) – National Chief Cindy Woodhouse Nepinak will attend the 69th Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW69) in New York City from March 10–14, 2025. UNCSW69 will bring together representatives from governments, UN agencies, and civil society organizations to review progress on gender equality, with a focus on the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and the outcomes of the 23rd Special Session of the General Assembly.

The National Chief will take part in discussions on the rights, safety, and economic empowerment of First Nations women and girls and will advocate for action on the Calls for Justice from the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG2S+). She will also host a networking dinner for Indigenous women attending UNCSW69 to discuss shared priorities and opportunities for collaboration.
