(June 3, 2024 – Unceded Algonquin Territory, Ottawa, Ontario) — Assembly of First Nations (AFN) National Chief Cindy Woodhouse Nepinak will hold a press conference to call for concrete action and justice for First Nations women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ individuals on the fifth anniversary of the release of the final report from the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG). Speakers will include AFN National Chief Cindy Woodhouse Nepinak, AFN Regional Chief for New Brunswick, Joanna Bernard, and Duane Aucoin, AFN 2SLGBTQ+ Council Representative for the Yukon Region.
